“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”
So the song says, anyway! And what are most adults thinking of as they are making their lists, checking them twice (or thrice, or more), looking for coupons and getting the lowest price?
MONEY! That’s right! In between thoughts of shopping for Christmas dinner (well, that’s where my thoughts are, anyway–on the food!), getting stuff in the house, hidden, wrapped, and what to leave for Santa to provide, there’s the question many of us ask at this blessed and exciting time of year, “Where IS that money tree, anyway?”
Well, in honor of the holidays (Happy Hanukkah, Chanukah, and Kwanzaa, my friends), I am offering a dose of Vitamin M. Another small excerpt from my new book, Vitamin Soup, A Recipe for Soulful Nourishment from A toZ, Vitamin M is all about getting a little more green as we head to a possible white Christmas.
This post is dedicated to Wendy, a warm and lovely lady bringing holiday cheer to American Express cardholders when they call Customer Service.
Vitamin M: Money
“Whoa! Money? If you are thinking that you can’t be focused on money while living a more spiritual life, you are probably not alone; but money is a necessary nutrient in our lives and is not inherently bad.
Vitamin M could also be meditation or music or motivation—we all benefit from those, too. But money is a key element for getting what we want and need from life—like clothes and a place to live!
Here is a question for you: Is it easier for you to have the life you want if you have money or if you don’t? Some level of financial security allows us to serve others, pay the mortgage, take the kids on a vacation, treat ourselves to luxuries like pedicures, and maybe even take some time off to write a book.
Having enough money enables us to feed our bodies with fruits and vegetables and feed our souls with the types of vitamins in this book!”
So, everybody, when you’re out running around the next couple of weeks, remember as you are pulling out the plastic, take an extra second to glance at the green in your wallet as well, and say a little “thank you” for the means by which you will be spreading holiday joy to those you love. It’s so easy to get into scarcity thinking when you don’t see the possibility of increase, so if you don’t have any green in your wallet, get some and keep it there as a reminder that there is always enough.
It looks like Vitamin Soup will be up and available at Amazon VERY SOON! And it looks like it will be there in time to order for Christmas! I want to offer you some extra goodies to go along with the book, so please leave a comment below (or email me privately if you prefer) and let me know what would help you. What can I offer you that would help you with your health, reach a weight goals, reduce your stress, help you get going on a project you’ve been putting off, get connected with loved ones?
Think about what’s on YOUR list, and let me know what I can give you this holiday.
